AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY
PLAN OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE (POLICE OFFICER)
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a Home Rule
Municipality as authorized and set forth in the Constitution of the
State of Illinois and as such, authorized to enact certain legislation
pertaining to its local government affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois, in exercise of its Home Rule authority as follows:
Section 1: That the Position Classification and Salary Plan, be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
AUTHORIZED POSITIONS
PERMANENT TEMPORARY TOTAL
POLICE DEPARTMENT MAY 1. 1994 ADDED* November 15, 1994
Police Officer 78 1 79*
*Denotes the temporary appointment to replace the Police
Officer who will be promoted to the vacant Sergeant
position upon the posting of the Sergeant's Eligibility
List early next year. This will provide the Department
with the opportunity to have an Officer advanced in
his/her training when the vacancy occurs. The added
temporary position will terminate upon the promotion of
the Police Officer to the vacant Sergeant position, thus
maintaining a permanent authorized staffing of 78 Police
Officers.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
