AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING AUTHORITY FOR THE VILLAGE CLERK OF THE
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE TO PUBLISH A NOTICE IN A NEWSPAPER
ADVISING OF THE AVAILABILITY OF THE ANNUAL TREASURER'S REPORT
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a home rule unit of
local government pursuant to the provisions of Article VII, Section 6 of
the Illinois Constitution; and
WHEREAS, as a home rule unit of local government, the Village of Elk
Grove Village is authorized to exercise any power and perform any function
pertaining to its government and affairs except as limited by Article
VII, Section 6.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage,
Illinois, in the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
Section 1: That the Village Clerk shall, within six (6) months
after the end of each fiscal year, and after having received a copy of the
annual treasurer's report, publish a notice in a newspaper advising of the
availability of said annual report and that the same may be inspected dr
copied at the office of the Village Clerk.
Section 2: That if any section, paragraph, clause or provision of
this ordinance shall be held invalid, the invalidity thereof shall not
affect any of the other provisions of this property.
Section 3: That all statutes of the State of Illinois or any parts
thereof which are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby superseded by this ordinance enacted under the home rule power of
the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they
conflict herewith.
Section 5: The Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this
ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage and approval and shall subsequently be
published in pamphlet form as provided by law.
