AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND
SALARY PLAN OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE (FIREFIGHTERS)
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a Home Rule
Municipality as authorized and set forth in the Constitution of
the State of Illinois and as such, is authorized to enact certain
legislation pertaining to its local government affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook
and DuPage, Illinois, in the exercise of its Home Rule authority
as follows:
Section 1: That the Position Classification and Salary Plan
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, be and the same is hereby
amended as follows:

*Denotes temporary appointments to replace firefighters who have
filed for or otherwise evidenced their termination of employment
with an effective date subsequent to March 16, 1994, the date the
eligibility list for firefighters expires. The Village Manager
is authorized, in conjunction with the Fire and Police Commission,
to effectuate up to four (4) temporary appointments and upon the
actual resignation or leave for permanent disability of any cur-
rent firefighter, the added temporary position established here-
in will terminate, thus ultimately maintaining a permanent autho-
rized staffing of firefighters at 69.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
