I am requesting that a "No Parking - Fire Lane" ordinance be developed for our
front entrance area in order that the policy may be enforced by the Elk Grove
Village Police Department. For your convenience, L have also enclosed a diagram
plus two pictures of the hotel entrance area. Our Engineering Department will be
pleased to install the signs.
Should you require anything further or if I may answer any questions, please
contact me. I am looking forward to your approval so that we may place the
signs. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Very truly yours,
And ayward
Engineer

Access to the front of the building is required in several emergency t
situations. These include the engine and ambulance on emergency medical Nk
requests, and placement of the aerial ladder truck should rescue by ladders
be needed from upper floors.
The parking of private autos in the area of the front entrance will slow
our initial response and possibly prevent our use of the aerial ladder in a /
rescue.
Because of these considerations, I feel the fire lanes are necessary.
Please advise of your decision and I will act on their request accordingly.
