AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 2186 AND GRANTING A
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY TO JON'S SUBURBAN TAXI TO PERMIT THE
OPERATION OF TWO (2) LICENSED TAXICABS IN THE VILLAGE OF
ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk
Grove Village, sitting as a Public Vehicle Commission, considered the
Petition of Jon's Suburban Taxi, which Petition requested the issuance of a
Certificate of Authority authorizing two (2) licensed taxicabs to operate
within the Village of Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, the Public Vehicle Commission having heard evidence and
testimony and being advised by the owner of Jon's Suburban Taxi that said
company would comply with all applicable Village Ordinances and Codes
pertaining to the operation of a taxicab service, including the requirement
for a central office with a twenty-four (24) hour dispatch service, find
and believe it to be in the best interest of the Village to issue said
Certificate of Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That a Certificate of Authority be and is hereby issued
to Jon's Suburban Taxi to permit the operation of two (2) licensed taxicabs
within the Village of Elk Grove Village, subject to compliance with all
applicable Village Codes and licensing regulations as set forth in Chapter
18, Section 4201 et seq. of the Elk Grove Village Municipal Code.
Section 2: That no license be issued until such time as applicable
insurance requirements have been met, the taxicabs have been inspected for
safety purposes as required by Ordinance, and any individual driver be
permitted as required by Ordinance and such other Rules and Regulations as
are set forth in said Article of the Municipal Code.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
