Head Deputy Village Clerk VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE DATE: 09 March 1992 TO: Gary Parrin, Ass i FROM: Fred J. , Celbre SUBJECT: Temporary Manager , Chief of Police R E C E I V E a MAR 0 9 1992 VILLAGE MANAGER'S OFFICE in Department Authorized Strength Sergeant Donald Jones will be retiring from the Police Department in July after 25+ years of service. His retirement and subsequent promotion of a police officer to fill his vacancy will place the Department under authorized strength in the police officer classification. The next available police officer basic training class commences on May 18, 1992 and I would like to request the Board's consideration to temporarily increase authorized strength in the police officer classification from 77 to 78. Such action would provide an opportunity for the Department to have an officer well along in his training when Sgt. Jones retires. If approved, hiring of a police officer applicant would take place in the week of May 10 through 16, 1992 to allow for several days of orientation prior to entering the academy. Your favorable consideration and presentation to the Village Board will be appreciated. Thank you. FJE.lb
