Pursuant to a duly made and approved motion and a majority vote at a regularly scheduled meeting
of the Mayor and Board of Trustees on March 16, 2021, this Executive Session was called to
consider review of Personnel.

Mayor Johnson proposed offering another round of bonuses to Village employees in recognition
of the work they have done responding to the pandemic over the past year, including the recent
vaccine clinic. He noted that the cost of a $750 bonus for all full-time employees, and a pro -rated
amount for part-time employees would be approximately $300,000.
The Board discussed that Village employees are paid for the work they do, and that many
volunteers worked at the clinic for the same hours as employees without pay. The Board
discussed that many employees work hard all year, even those who may not have worked at the
clinic, and that it is unnecessary to focus just on the clinic
Trustee Czarnik proposed waiting to pay the bonus until all of the Village's planned vaccine
clinics are finished. The Board last approved a bonus for Village employees two years ago.
The consensus of the Board was to move forward with the proposed employee bonus.
In regard to the timing of the payment, the Board voted 4-2 (Trustees Prochno, Schmidt,
Czarnik, and Franke AYE; Trustees Lissner and Feichter NAY) in favor of providing the bonus
payment to employees in July.
