AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18.4213 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
THEREBY AMENDING THE RATES CHARGE FOR TAXI CAB SERVICE WITHIN
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That Section 18.4213 - Rates of the Municipal Code of
the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
18.4213 - Rates. The charges for taxi cab service shall
not exceed t e following:
a. Two dollars and forty cents ($2.40) for the first mile
or fraction thereof.
b. Twenty ($0.20) cents for each exceeding one-seventh of
a mile or a fraction thereof.
c. Ten ($0.10) cents for each additional passenger carried
on a trip.
d. Eighteen dollars and fifty cents ($18.50) for each sixty
(60) minutes of waiting time or fraction thereof.
e. Twenty-five ($0.25) cents for parcel delivery other than
for normal luggage carried.
Section 2: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine not less then
Twenty-five ($25.00) dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) dollars
for each and every offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish
this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as
of January 1, 1991 and upon its passage, approval and publication according
to law.
