AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12, SIGNS AND AWNINGS OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
AS IT PERTAINS TO PERMITTED SIGNS IN B1, B2, AND B3
BUSINESS DISTRICTS AND IN INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That Section 12.003B, Signs in B1, B2, and B3 Business
Districts, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following:
11. Signs advertising the availability of a business
or commercial site or building for sale, rent or
lease, provided that such sign shall not exceed
forty-five (45) square feet in area. If a multi -
faced sign or more than one (1) sign is erected,
the combined areas of all signs shall not exceed
forty-five (45) square feet in area. Such sign(s)
shall be removed within seven (7) days after a sale
is closed or a lease or rental agreement is signed.
Signs shall comply with Sections 12.003B.3.(c) and
(d), and Section 12.004(D) of the Sign Ordinance.
Section 2: That Section 12.003C, Signs in Industrial District, and
the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
9. Signs advertising the availability of a business or
commercial site or building for sale, rent or lease,
provided that such sign shall not exceed forty-five
(45) square feet in area. If a multi -faced sign or
more than one (1) sign is erected, the combined areas
of all signs shall not exceed forty-five (45) square
feet in area. Such sign(s) shall be removed within
seven (7) days after a sale is closed or a lease or
rental agreement is signed. Signs shall comply with
Sections 12.003B.3.(c) and (d), and Section 12.004(D)
of the Sign Ordinance.
Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish
this Ordinance in Pamphlet Form.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
