AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23.903 OF ARTICLE IX (FIRE LANES)
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BY
ADDING DESIGNATED FIRE LANES FOR THE LEISURE FITNESS CENTRE
999 Leicester Road
WHEREAS, the owner of certain property located at 999 Leicester Road,
(commonly known as the Leisure Fitness Centre) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois,
has requested of the Village in writing that certain areas within their property
be designated as fire lanes. A copy of said request being attached hereto and
incorporated herein as Exhibit "A" of this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1. That Section 23.903 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Elk Grove Village which provides for certain areas located in the Village to be
designated "Fire Lanes" and making it unlawful for any person to block or
obstruct wholly or partially any such designated area, be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following:
CC. Leisure Fitness Centre, 999 Leicester Road: All area
designated as Fire Lanes on a map entitled, "Leisure
Fitness Centre", which map is hereby incorporated by
reference as a part of Ordinance No. 2052.
Section 2. That owner or owners of the property where the above signs are
to be located are hereby directed to install and maintain said signs subject to
the approval of the Chief of the Fire Department of the Village of Elk Grove
Village.
Section 3. Any person, firm, or corporation who violates any provisions
of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-five ($25.00)
Dollars and no more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense.
Section 4. That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this
Ordinance in Pamphlet Form.
Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication according to law.

Thn. Elk Groves Park District requests that the entrance driveways to the
Leisure Fitness Centre, 999 Lai.cester Road, Elk Grove Village, be
designaLad as fire lanes. Currently cars are parking in the driveways
reducing the width of the driveways, prohibiting free access for
emergency vehicles. Duu Lo the nature of programming in this facility
emergency vehicles are frequenLly called here. We must bu able to get
Lhese service vehicles in and out without a problem which currently
cannot he done. Your assistance in this matter will be greatly
appreciated.
