AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS, OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP IN THE
PLAN COMMISSION BY TWO (2) AND PROVIDING FOR THE
ELIMINATION OF CERTAIN OTHER BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a Home Rule
Municipality as established and defined by the Constitution
of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village, as a Home Rule Municipality, has
the authority to enact legislation pertaining to its local govern-
ment and affairs including providing for the increase in member-
ship of the Plan Commission and the elimination of certain other
Boards and Commissions deemed unnecessary by the corporate author-
ities of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of
Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 7.702, Membership, of Article VII
Plan Commission of Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
7.702 - Membership. The Plan Commission shall con-
sist of nine (9) members who shall be appointed
by the Village President by and with the con-
sent of the Board of Trustees and who shall
be residents of the Village. one (1) of the
nine (9) members shall be appointed by the
Village President by and with the consent
of the Board of Trustees as Chairman.
Section 2: That Article IX, Electrical Commission, of
Chapter 7, Boards and Commissions of the Municipal Code, is
hereby repealed.
Section 3: That Article XIV, Housing Commission, of Chapter
7, Boards and Commissions of the Municipal Code of the Village
is hereby repealed.
Section 4: That Article XIV, Appeals, and Article XV,
Section 16A.1502 of Chapter 16A of the Municipal Code is hereby
repealed.
Section 5: That all references to the Building Board of
Appeals set forth in Article II, Building Code, of Chapter 13
of the Municipal Code are hereby repealed.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
