Home My WebLink AboutORDINANCE - 2083 - 2/13/1990 - TAXICABORDINANCE NO. 2083 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, ARTICLE XLII, SECTIONS 18.4201, DEFINITIONS; 18.4209, INSURANCE; AND 18.4214, EMBLEM; OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That Section 18.4201, Definition, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto paragraph "F" to read as follows: F. License Year - January 1 thru December 31, of each year. Section 2: That Section 18.4209, Insurance, be and the same is hereby amended by increasing the amount of coverage for property damage from $25,000.00 to "$50,000.00" for each accident. Section 3: That Section 18.4214, Emblem, be and the same is hereby amended by adding "EMBLEM/LOOK ALIKE" and thereto the following paragraph: "No taxicab shall be painted or labeled so as to be so similar to the vehicles of any other person licensed and engaged in the business of operating taxicabs in the Village of Elk Grove Village so as to be an imitation thereof and calculated to deceive the patrons of taxicabs into believing that such vehicles are in reality the taxicabs of such other person". Section 4: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each and every offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. Section 5: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this Ordinance in Pamphlet Form. Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
