HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 2002 - 12/13/1988 - ZONING BOARD OF APPEALSNO. 2002 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III - BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS - OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE BY PROVIDING FOR AN ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a Home Rule Municipality as set forth and defined by the Constitution of the State of Illinois and in that regard has full authority to enact legislation pertaining to its local governmental affairs which legislation is not specifically precluded or pre-empted by the General Assembly of the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have been advised by the Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals of the need for an appointment of an alternate member to said Board to facilitate the ability for said Board to have a quorum at all regularly scheduled meetings and enable said Board to conduct its business in a normal and regular fashion; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Article III - Board of Zoning Appeals - of Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following Section: 7.307 Alternate Member. At the request of the Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Village President, with the advise and consent of the Board, may select an alternate member to the Board of Zoning Appeals. The alternate member shall sit on the Board in the absence of any regular member of the Zoning Board and shall have the same powers and duties as such regular members when called to serve in that capacity. Any vacancy in a full position as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall be automatically filled by said alternate unless otherwise directed and ordered by the Village President, with the consent of the Village Board. Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. VOTES: AYES: 6 ATTEST: Patricia S.
