AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23.903 OF ARTICLE IX (FIRE
LANES) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
BY ADDING DESIGNATED FIRE LANES FOR THE ELK CROSSING
SHOPPING CENTER - (ARLINGTON HEIGHTS AND BIESTERFIELD ROADS).
WHEREAS, Jupiter Realty Services, Inc., being the Agent of the
Owner of certain property located at Arlington Heights and Biesterfield
Roads (commonly known as Elk Crossing Shopping Center) in Elk Grove
Village, Illinois, has requested of the Village in writing that certain
areas within their property be designated as fire lanes. A copy of said
request being attached hereto and incorporated herein as exhibit "A" of
this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois.
Section 1: That Section 23.903 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village which provides for certain areas located in
the Village to be designated "Fire Lanes" and making it unlawful for any
person to block or obstruct wholly or partially any such designated area,
be amended by adding thereto the following:
BB. The Elk Crossing Shopping Center at Arlington
Heights and Biesterfield Roads:
All areas designated as Fire Lanes on a map
entitled "Elk Crossing Shopping Center", which
map is hereby incorporated by reference as a
part of Ordinance No. 1949
Section 2: That owner or owners of the property where the above
signs are to be located are hereby directed to install and maintain said
signs subject to the approval of the Chief of the Fire Department of the
Village Elk Grove Village.
Section 3: Any person, firm, or corporation who violates any
provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and no more than five hundred dollars
($500.00) for each offense.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in Pamphlet Form.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval, according to law.
