Zoning Variation — Docket #23-1 209 Oakton Street
Chairman Childress called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and read a statement describing the hearing
notification procedure as well as the legal notice.
The petitioner, Ronald Pobuta (Owner of Record), was sworn in and asked to state his case for
requesting a zoning variation.
The petitioner stated he wants to replace a deteriorated existing wood fence with a new wood fence in
the same location. To relocate the existing fence to where the code allowed, it would be expensive and
would require landscaping removal.
Chairman Childress opened the meeting to questions from the board.
Member Latrofa inquired about if the petitioner had spoken to his neighbors.
The petitioner stated he has not.
Member Latrofa inquired about what type of fence construction it would be.
The petitioner stated it would be a wood cedar fence.
Members Bookler, Glimco, Fowler, Serrano and Spragg had no questions.
Chairman Childress stated that the petitioner's property has no issues that appear to conflict with sight
lines. Chairman Childress stated that no utilities or drainage issues appear to conflict with the proposed
fence replacement.
No members of the public were present.
Community Development Department stated they received no phone calls or emails and have no
objection to the variation request.
Chairman Childress called for the motion.
A Motion to DO GRANT a variation to permit the installation of a six (6') foot high wood fence which will
extend approximately five (5') feet beyond the nearest front corner of the principal structure on the
adjacent single-family residential lot to the South at 102 Ridgewood Road was made by Member Glimco
and seconded by Member Latrofa.
Upon voting (AYES — Bookler, Childress, Glimco, Fowler, Latrofa, Serrano and Spragg) (NAYES- None.)
(ABSENT — Rawleigh and Romanski)
The motion carried.
Chairman Childress advised the petitioners to contact the Village Clerk and be available for the
subsequent Village Board Meeting on February 28, 2023.
Chairman Childress called for a motion to adjourn.
This Motion to adjourn was made by Member Latrofa which was seconded by Member Spragg.
The motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
