AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.96 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE VILLAGE PERTAINING TO PARKING SPACES REQUIRED
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove
Village at a public meeting duly called and held according to
law considered the question of amending certain parking space
requirements set forth in Section 3.96 of the Zoning Ordinance
on the basis of a Petition therefore submitted to -the Village
by Anthony Wauterlek on behalf of the Touhy-Higgins Subdivision;
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees after having
reviewed the findings of said Plan Commission find and believe
it to be in the best interest of the Village that the Zoning
Ordinance be amended as requested.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of
Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3.96.E of the Zoning Ordinance
be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new para-
graph which shall read as follows:
(17)
One (1) parking space shall be provided for
each six hundred (600) square feet of gross
floor area plus one (1) space for each two (2)
employees for those areas of the building devoted
to displays, showrooms and storage. As to the
balance of the areas of the building, parking
spaces shall be provided pursuant to "Other
Retail Stores" under 3.96.B(12).
Section 2: That Section 3.96.D(5) of the Zoning Ordinance
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
(5) Industrial Retail Commercial and Non -Retail Commer-
cial Areas.
Parking spaces shall be provided pursuant to
"Other Retail Stores" under 3.96.B.(12), except
for areas where the commercial activity is the
sale of equipment, machinery or products intended
for industrial use and not domestic use (domestic
use being those described under the Permitted
Uses for the B-1 District) where sales are made
through use of display areas and showrooms which
are used for display only, in which event parking
spaces shall be provided pursuant to 3.96.B.(17).
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
