HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1868 - 1/27/1987 - NO RIGHT TURN ON REDORDINANCE NO. 1868 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III, RULES FOR DRIVING, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 14.311B, NO RIGHT TURN ON RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL WHEN PEDESTRIANS ARE PRESENT NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Article III, Rules for Driving, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 14.311B as follows: 14.311B - No Right Turn on Red Traffic Signal when Pedestrians are Present. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any motor vehicle traveling in the direction and on the streets or driveways as indicated in Column A to turn right on a red traffic signal at the intersection when pedestrians are present on streets located in Column B. Column A. Column B. Evergreen Street at Oakton Street Rupley School Driveway at Oakton Street Section 2: Any person, firm of corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense. Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
