AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1639
EXTENDING THE TIME FOR SIXPENCE INNS OF
AMERICA INC. TO CONSTRUCT A RESTAURANT ON
PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF
OAKTON STREET AND BUSSE ROAD, ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village pursuant
to Ordinance No. 1639 granted a Special Use Permit to McGraw
Edison Company and Sixpence Inns of America, Inc. to permit
the construction and operation of a motel and restaurant
on property located at the Southwest corner of Oakton Street
and Busse Road, Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, the granting of said Special Use Permit
was, in part, conditioned upon the Developer constructing
a restaurant on the subject property no later than April
24, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the Developer has requested an extension
for two (2) additional years; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, having considered the
Developer's request for an extension and the Plan Commission's
recommendations with respect thereto, find and believe it
to be in the best interest of the Village that Ordinance
No. 1639 be amended and that Sixpence Inns of America Inc.,
be given an additional two (2) year period in which to con-
struct the restaurant on the property subject to the Special
Use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President
and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That paragraph 2. of Section 2 of Ordinance
No. 1639 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2: The restaurant portion of the
Special Use Permit herein granted shall
be completed by April 24, 1988. Should
a Building Permit and an Occupancy Permit
for said restaurant not be granted by said
date, then this Special Use Permit shall
automatically terminate with respect to
the restaurant use unless otherwise extended
by the President and Board of Trustees upon
review and recommendation by the Plan Commis-
sion.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE

SIXPENCE INNS OF AfdERICA, INC. TO PEP•IIT
THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A
I•fOTEL AND RESTAURANT ON PROPERTY LOCATED
AT THE SOUTIIWr�ST COR14ER OF OAKTON STREET
AND BUSSE ROAD, ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk
Grove Village, acting as a Zoning Commission, conducted a
public hearing to consider the question of granting a
Special Use Permit to Sixpence Inns of America Inc. and
McGraw -Edison Company to permit the construction of a restaurant
and motel on property located at the Southwest corner of
Oakton Street and Busse Road, which property is legally described
hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village after having considered the
recommendations of said Plan Commission find and believe it
to be in the best interest of the Village that such Special
Use Permit be granted subject to the conditions as set forth
by said Plan Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That a Special Use Permit be and the same
is hereby granted to Sixpence Inns of America, Inc. and McGraw
Edison Company to permit the construction of a motel and
restaurant on property located on the Southwest corner of
oakton Street and Busse Road and legally described as follows:

Section 2: The granting of this Special �:se Per^,i�

1. That the property shall be de7:e10ped in
accordance with the Final Site Plan dated
1984. ,1 conv of .:hich is
on file with the Village Clerk of the Village
of Elk Grove Village.
2. The restaurant portion of the Special Use
Permit herein granted shall be completed within
two (2) years from the date of the adoption
of this Ordinance. Should a Building Permit
and an Occupancy Permit for said restaurant
not be given within said two (2) year period,
then this Special Use Permit shall aut--maticall;•
terminate unless otherwise extended by the
President and Board of Trustees upon review and
recommendation by the Plan Commission.
3. Prior to the occupancy of the motel portion of
the Special Use, the owner shall submit and ha:e
approved a landscape plan for the motel and an
interim landscape plan for the restaurant. h
Final Landscape Plan for the restaurant shall be
submitted and approved prior to the issuance of
an Occupancy Permit for the restaurant. Said
landscape plans shall encompass the drainage citeh
and address the safety, health and welfare of
pedestrians using the abutting sidewalks.
4. Sidewalks along Oakton Street and Busse Road
shall be required for installation after the
appropriate Village and State permits with respect
to same are granted. At such time as the Illinois
Department of Transportation issues sidewalk
permits for Busse Road, the Petitioner shall install
said sidewalk within thirty (30) days after the
issuance of the permit, weather permitting, in
accordance with Village Ordinances, along the
West side of Busse Road from Oakton Street to the
South boundry of the subject parcel.
