Rummel, Village Manager M. Roan, Deputy Village Manager M. Jablonski, Assistant Village Manager W. Payne, Acting Village Attorney Guests: J. McCabe, Forest Preserve District of Cook County J.R. Dallas, ENCLAVE for Entrepreneurs Forest Preserve District of Cook County Strategic Plan Update J. McCabe, Director of Resource Management for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (FPDCC), provided an informational presentation on the District's Next Century Conservation Plan, which was established as part of their centennial anniversary in 2014. The Conservation Plan focuses on four major goal -areas: Nature, which includes the ecological restoration of 30,000 acres and acquisition of over 20,000 acres of land for open space; People, which includes engaging a diverse group of visitors to experience and learn about the preserves; Leadership, which includes responsible management, transparency and accountability; and Economy, which includes building the economic case for nature and encouraging nature - compatible business development. J. McCabe highlighted recent restoration and preservation efforts, as well as improved and expanded education and recreational opportunities available through the FPDCC. The Committee thanked J. McCabe for providing an update on the FPDCC's strategic plan and expressed their appreciation for the District's continued cooperation and partnership with the Village. ENCLAVE for Entrepreneurs Update J. R. Dallas, CEO of ENCLAVE for Entrepreneurs, provided an informational presentation regarding the progress and challenges of this innovative not -for -profit economic development education initiative, which officially launched in the Fall of 2017. ENCLAVE has developed a strong relationship with the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management which is reflected in the speakers featured at the popular Monthly Conversations program. ENCLAVE has also partnered with Harper Community College and students can obtain class credit for attending ENCLAVE programs. Among its many recent efforts, ENCLAVE has now produced 12 podcasts at its in-house studio to share the learning and successes through the program, and has been working with and hosting meetings for regional economic development groups such as Select Chicago, and Next Level Northwest. The Committee thanked J.R. Dallas for providing an update on the development of ENCLAVE and expressed appreciation for his efforts to support the Village's business community.
