AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 15.003: FEES, AND 15.008:
PENALTY OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DUPage, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1: That Section 15.003, fees, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
15.003 Fees.
Motor bicycle and scooter $ 9.00
(150 cc. piston displacement or less)
Motorcycle $ 15.00
(over 150 cc. piston displacement)
Passenger Cars $ 15.00
Dealer Plates $ 15.00
Recreational Vehicles $ 15.00
Trucks - having a gross weight of not $ 35.00
more than 8,000 pounds, including the weight
of the vehicle and maximum load
Trucks - having a gross weight of more than $ 55.00
8,000 pounds but not more than 16,000 pounds,
including the weight of the vehicle and maximum
load
Trucks - having a gross weight of more than $ 75.00
16,000 pounds but not more than 32,000 pounds,
including the weight of the vehicle and maximum
load
Trucks - having a gross weight of more than $ 95,00
32,000 pounds but not more than 50,000 pounds,
including the weight of the vehicle and maximum
load
Trucks - having a gross weight of more than $115.00
50,000 pounds, including the weight of the vehicle
and maximum load
The horsepower and weight shall be determined in the manner prescribed
by Statute for determining these factors for the purpose of fixing
State license fees.
Notwithstanding the provisions of this Chapter, the vehicle license
fee for a vehicle registered to a handicapped person, disabled veteran,
and persons sixty-five(65) years of age and over shall be $0.50 per
year. This reduced rate is for non-commercial vehicles and excludes
trucks having a gross weight of more than 8,000 pounds and vehicles
with dealer plates. Any individual requesting such reduced rate shall
provide such evidence as is requested by the Finance Department evidencing
ownership of the licensed vehicle, handicapped status, disabled veteran
status, and/or age.
Section 2: That Section 15.008, penalty, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
15.008 Penalty: Any person, firm or corporation violating the requirements
of this Chapter shall be subject to a fine according to the following
schedule.

A separate offense shall be deemed committed for each day during which
a violation occurs or continues.
Section 3: Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars, nor
more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense, and each separate
violation hereof shall be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk be and is hereby directed to publish
this Ordinance in Pamphlet Form.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
