HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1708 - 3/26/1985 - COMBUSTIBLE REFUSEORDINANCE NO. 1708 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 24.011, COMBUSTIBLE REFUSE OF CHAPTER 24 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE THEREBY REQUIRING THE RECAPTURE OF COSTS INCURRED BY THE VILLAGE TO ABATE HAZARDOUS OR DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCES BE IT ORDAINI,Q by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Sec. 24.011, Combustible Refuse of Chapter 24 of the Municipal Code of the Village of ELk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 24.011, Combustible Refuse - Chemical/Combustible Liquor Spills. A) It shall be unlawful to permit or store any combustible refuse in such a way as to create a fire hazard, or to store or throw any refuse of any kind on any alley, street or public place in the Village. B) It shall be unlawful to transport, store or permit chemicals, acid, explosives, petroleum products or other combustible liquids or materials in such a manner so as to create a fire hazard or dangerous situation to any individual, firm or corporation or to cause same to be spilled, dumped or placed on any street, sidewalk or other place open to the general public. C) Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Section shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty- five ($25.00) Dollars or more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues to exist. In addition to any penalties which may be imposed herein, any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this Section shall be responsible for all costs of the Village including wages, materials, equipment and costs of outside contractors necessarily incurred by the Village to abate such hazard or danger. Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publica- tion according to law. VOTES: AYES: NAYS: ABSENT: APPROVED: Charles J.
