AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1713 AND AMENDING CHAPTER
4-A, POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN, SECTIONS 4A.202,
4A.203, 4A.205, 4A.206; DELETING SECTION 4A.207; AMENDING AND
RENUMBERING SECTION 4A.208 TO SECTION 4A.207, OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village
Chapter 4A entitled, "Position Classification and Salary Plan", Section
4A.202, 4A.203, 4A.205, and 4A.206 be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
4A.202 ANNUAL SALARY MIDPOINT FORMULAE:
Annual Salary Midpoint formulae are hereby established for
all clerical classes, for all labor/trade classes, for non-
labor/trade and non -clerical classes, up to 330 job content
points, and fcr classes above 330 job content points as follows:
Labor/trade 0-229 points
Non -Labor trades & non -
Clerical Classes 0-330 points
Clerical Classes 0-299 points
All Classes above 330 points
4A.203 MIDPOINT RATE

The Midpoint Rate shall constitute the point of the Salary
Range around which salaries are determined, adjusted and
administered.
To determine the Midpoint dollar rate of any Salary Range;
the total job content evaluation points for the respective
class is multiplied by the per point value, i.e. $69.45 and
the base value dollar amount, i.e. $12,237.00 is added to
the total.
4A.205 MERIT SALARY ADJUSTMENTS
The Merit Schedule shall be determined annually thereby
establishing the percent of Salary increase to be available
for various levels of employee job performance. The Merit
Schedule is hereby established as follows for 1985/86:

Each employee's wage and salary increase will be based on the
employee's average performance rating for the two evaluation
periods beginning on October 1, 1983 and ending on September 30,
1984. Probationary employees, who successfully complete their
probationary period will be eligible for merit increases on
May 1, 1985 according to the Merit Schedule on a prorated basis.
In no event shall an employee, other than a Department Head as
approved by the Village Board, receive a salary increase which
would exceed the barrier line established for the average per-
formance rating level achieved by the employee.
If a permanent employee's new salary falls below the new
minimum rate (85%) of the assigned salary range after applying
the merit increase and the performance rating is 3.5 or higher,
the employee's salary will be brought up to the new minimum
rate (85%). If a probationary employee's new salary falls
below the new entrance rate (79%) of the assigned salary range
after applying the merit increase and the performance rating is
3.5 or higher, the employee's salary will be brought up to the
nr*.. entrance rate (79%).
4A.206 WITHIN RANGE SALARY ADJUSTMENT ON NOVEMBER 1. 1985
Permanent employees whose salaries are below the midpoint
established for their position classification and whose
average performance rating is 3.5 or higher shall be eligible
for a salary increase based on their length of employment as
a permanent Village employee. The following within range
salary adjustment shall be made on November 1, 1985:

Probationary employees who successfully complete the probationary
period with a 3.5 or higher performance rating prior to November 1,
shall be eligible for a within range salary adjustment according
to the above schedule on a prorated basis. However, probationary
and permanent employees whose performance rating is below 3.5 are
not eligible for any within range salary adjustment.
Section 2: That the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village
Section 4A.207, Within Range Salary Adjustment after November 1, 1984 be
deleted and Section 4A.208, Administration of Wage and Salary Plan, be and
the same is hereby amended by renumbering to Section 4A.207 and amended to
read as follows:
4A.207 ADMINISTRATION OF WAGE AND SALARY PLAN
The Village Manager shall be responsible for administering
the performance evaluation and merit adjustments along with
the Within Range Salary Adjustments as specified in Sections
4A.205 and 4A.206. In addition to the Merit Grid specified in
4A.205, the Village Manager may establish such compensation as
appropriate for staff/managerial positions for outstanding level
of performance.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as
of May 1, 1985 and upon its passage and approval according to law.
