HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1725 - 5/28/1985 - SPEED RESTRICTIONS/BIESTERFIELD RDORDINANCE NO. 1725 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14.322, SPEED RESTRICTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AS IT RELATES TO BIESTERFIELD ROAD BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That the first paragraph of Section 14.322, Speed Restrictions, of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "It shall be unlawful to drive any motor vehicle on any street not located in an Industrial Zone and not under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Works and Buildings, State of Illinois or County of Cook and DuPage, in the Village at a speed in excess of twenty-five (25) miles per hour, except on Nerge Road, between Devon Avenue and Rohlwing Road (Route 53) - and on Oakton Street, between Shadywood Lane and Higgins Road (Route 72) - where the speed shall not be in excess of thirty-five (35) miles per hour; and on Biesterfield Road between Arlington Heights Road and Rohlwing Road (Route 53) where the speed shall not be in excess of forty (40) miles per hour." Section 2: That the Chief of Police or his designated agent shall post or cause to be posted such signs as are necessary to effectuate the provisions of this Ordinance. Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than twenty-five ($25.00) dollars nor more than five hundred ($500.00) dollars for each offense. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. VOTES: AYES: 6 Charles J.
