AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ADOPTING A PETITION FOR
ANNEXATION TO THE NORTH SUBURBAN MASS TRANSIT DISTRICT
BY THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the North Suburban Mass Transit District is a municipal corpor-
ation organized in 1972 pursuant to Section 3 of the Local Mass Transit District
Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1973 Ch. 111-2/3, Sec. 351 et seq.); and
WHEREAS, Sec. 3.01 of the Local Mass Transit District Act provides that
any municipality may be annexed to a local mass transit district upon adoption
of a petition for annexation and approval by the trustees of said District;
and
WHEREAS, it has been found and determined to be in the public interest
of the residents of the Village of Elk Grove Village that the Village be
annexed to, and become a participating municipality of, the North Suburban
Mass Transit District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1: That the Village of Elk Grove Village shall and does hereby
petition for annexation to the North Suburban Mass Transit District pursuant
to Sec. 3.01 of the Local Mass Transit District Act.
Section 2: That the President of the Village of Elk Grove Village is
hereby authorized to appoint a trustee to the Board of Trustees of said District
in the manner provided by the Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval, as provided by law.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk shall and is hereby directed to cause
filing of a certified copy of this ordinance with the Secretary of the North
Suburban Mass Transit District.
