AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23.903(A), ARTICLE IX
(FIRE LANES) BY ADDING DESIGNATED EXCLUSION OF A PORTION
OF AN EXISTING FIRE LANE FOR AND AT THE REQUEST OF
ALEXIAN BROTHERS MEDICAL CENTER AND SECTION 23.905,
PENALTY, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK
GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, Mr. Bruce Mazurkiewicz, Director of
Public Safetv for the Alexian Brothers Medical Center
has requested of the Village of Elk Grove Village in
writing that a portion of an existing fire lane area be
excluded to permit a pick up area to serve patients who
are being discharged from the medical center and are
still somewhat incapacitated. A copy of said request
being attached hereto and incorporated herein as exhibit
"A" of this Ordinance. The area of the requested
exclusion is the main hospital entrance, main level
circle.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President
and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, Counties of Cook and DUPage Illinois.
Section 1: That Section 23.903(A), Lane
Designations, of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended to
exclude a portion of the designated fire lane as
outlined on the plot plan attached as Exhibit "B".
Section 2: That owner or owners of the property
where the above signs are to be located are hereby
directed to install and maintain said signs subject to
the approval of the Chief of the Fire Department of the
Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 3: That section 23.905, Penalty, of the
Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
23.905 Penalty - Any person, firm or corporation viola-
ting any of the provisions of this
Article shall be fined not less than
Twenty -Five ($25.00) Dollars nor more
than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars.
Section 4: Any person, firm or corporation who
violates any provisions of this Ordinance shall be
subject to a fine of not less than Twenty -Five ($2.5.00)
Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for
each offense.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby
authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passaqe, approval,
and publication according to law.

ORDINANCE NO. 1680
An Ordinance Amending Section 23.903(A), Article IX (Fire Lanes)
by adding designated exclusion of a portion of an existing fire lane
for and at the request of Alexian Brothers Medical Center and
Section 23.905, penalty, of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Elk Grove Village was duly adopted by the President and Board of
Trustees on December 11, 1984. Said Ordinance has been published
in Pamphlet Form pursuant to the authority of the President and
Board of Trustees, Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage
Counties, Illinois. Copies are available at the Village Clerk's
Office, Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove
Village, Illinois.

In an attempt to better serve those patients who are being discharged
from the Medical Center, and are still somewhat incapacitated, we
would like to create a patient pick-up zone.
I have attached a plot plan for you to review with your Shift Commanders
so that, if it meets with your approval, it may be formally submitted
to the Village for the appropriate ordinance changes.
