AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE
BY ADOPTING THE ILLINOIS VEHICLE CODE AS
THE VEHICLE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK
GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a home
rule municipality as set forth and defined by the Constitution
of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to its home rule authority, the Village
is empowered to enact legislation pertaining to its government
and affairs in the best interests of the Village, including
the adoption of various Codes and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
Village td adopt the Illinois Vehicle Code as the Vehicle Code
of the Village of Elk Grove Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Municipal Code of the Village of
Elk Grove Village is hereby amended by adding thereto a new
Chapter (Chapter 14A) which Chapter shall read as follows:
Chapter 14A - Adoption of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
Sec. 14A-101. The following Sections and Articles
of the Illinois Vehicle Code are hereby adopted for
the Vehicle Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village:

Articles IV, Article VII
C.
Chapter
6,
Sec. 6-100 through 6-104; 6-116; and

Sec. 111
Any citation cited pursuant to the above and foregoing shall be
designated as set forth in the Illinois Vehicle Code and prefixed
by reference to this Chapter 14A.
14A-102. Excluded from the adoption by reference by
this Chapter are the following Sections of the Illinois Vehicle
Code:
A. Chapter 2 in its entirety
B. Chapter 3, Articles I, II, III, V, VI, VIII, IX,
and X
C. Chapter 4 in its entirety
D. Chapter 5 in its entirety
E. Chapter 6, Sec. 6-105 through 6-115; Sec. 6-117;
Sec. 6-212; Sec. 6-307
F. Chapter 7 in its entirety
G. Chapter 8 in its entirety
H. Chapter 9 in its entirety
I. Chapter 10 in its entirety
J. Chapter 11, Secs. 11-501 and 11-501.1
K. Chapter 13 except Sec. 13-111
L. Chapter 14 in its entirety
M. Chapter 15 in its entirety

Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
