HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1629 - 3/27/1984 - CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCEORDINANCE NO. 1629 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 11.103 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE THEREBY REQUIRING CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FOR ALL CONTRACT WORK IN THE VILLAGE RIGHT- OF-WAY BE IT ORDAINED by the .President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Sec. 11.103 Bond, of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended by deleting the present language contained therein so that said Section shall read as follows: Sec. 11.103. Bond - Insurance. Each Applicant shall file a bond, in the amount of Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars with sureties to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, conditioned to indemnify the Village from any loss or damage resulting from the work undertaken or the manner of doing the same. Each Applicant shall further provide evidence to the Village of insurance, said Certificate of Insurance to name the Village of Elk Grove Village as an additional party insured and be sufficient to cover all contract work to be performed including work performed by the General Contractor.and any subcontractor and shall be in the following amounts: 1. Comprehensive General Liability insurance for each occurrence in the sum of $100,000.00 and aggregate in the sum of $300,000.00. 2. Property damage in the amount of $100,000.00 for each occurrence. 3. Comprehensive automobile liability in the amount of $100,000.00 for bodily injury each occurrence and $300,000.00 for bodily injury aggregate, and $100,000.00 property damage for each occurrence. 4. Excess Umbrella Liability in the amount of $1,000,000.00 to cover claims exceeding the above principal coverages. 5. Worker's compensation. 6. Employer's Liability $100,000.00 each accident. Each Certificate of Insurance shall contain a provision requiring a ten (10) day minimum written notice to the Village prior to cancellation of the policies. Section 2: That Sec. 11.121 Penalties, of the Municipal Code be and is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 11.121. Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Article shall be fined not less than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. Section 3: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. VOTES: AYES: 5 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 1 APPROVED: Charles J.
