AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 22A.702, DELAYED PAYMENT
CHARGE/RETURNED CHECKS, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village, has experienced certain
difficulties with respect to the return of customers' checks from banks due
to insufficient funds; and
WHEREAS, the Village will incur certain costs in the handling and
processing of these NSF checks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois,
as follows:
Section l: That Section 22A.702, Delayed Payment Charge/Returned
Checks, paragraph 2, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
If any check deposited with the Village for
payment of the water and sewer bill in returned
unpaid from the bank on which it is drawn, an
additional charge of Ten ($10.00) Dollars shall
be charged.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication, according to law.
