AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SUBDIVISION
CONTROL ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF
ELK GROVE VILLAGE. PERTAINING TO THE
PLANTING AND REPLACEMENT OF TREES
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village Counties of
Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Sec. 8.005, Required Improvements,
of Chapter 8, Subdivisions, of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended
by replacing the second and third paragraphs of Paragraph A.
Requirements As to Number, Location and Type of that Section
pertaining to TREES, which paragraph shall read as follows:
Trees initially planted to meet the requirements
of this Ordinance, and all replacement trees,
shall be balled and burlapped trees. Replacement
trees planted after acceptance by the Village
shall be balled and burlapped or bare root trees,
except replacement of healthy trees, as determined
by the Village, shall be balled and burlapped.
The minimum trunk diameter of all trees, measured
at a height of six inches above the finished ground
level, shall be 2.5 inches.
The following trees are acceptable to the Village
for such planting:
Norway Maple (seedless) White Oak
Red Maple (seedless) Red Oak
White Ash (seedless) English Oak
Blue Ash (seedless) Sawtooth Oak
Green Ash (seedless) Burr Oak
Hesse European Ash Hackberry
Big Leaf Linden (seedless) Ginkgo (male only)
Little Leaf Linden (seedless) Village Green Zelkova
European Hornbeam Flowering Pear (fruitless)
American Hornbeam Shawnee Brave Cypress
Katsura Tree Honeylocust (seedless and thornless
Tulip Tree
Section 2 Any person, firm or corporation who violates
any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to
a fine of not less than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars nor more
than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
