I5r,-7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 24.046 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO THE PURCHASE OR POSSESSION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR BY A MINOR BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Sec. 24.046, Purchase or Possession of Alcoholic Liquor by a Minor, be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2: That a new Sec. 24.046 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby adopted, which Section shall read as follows: Sec. 24.046 Purchase or Possession of Alcoholic Beverages; Liability of Parents and Others. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one (21) years to purchase, receive, accept, have in his possession or control or imbibe any alcoholic beverages within the Corporate Boundaries of the Village of Elk Grove Village. 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to suffer, permit or allow the violation of the provisions of this Section in any motor vehicle, conveyance, house, apartment, room, shed, yard, or area of which such person is the owner, lessee, permittee, bailee, or legal possessor or occupier thereof. 3. Nothing contained herein shall be applicable to persons under the age of twenty-one (21) years: a) participating in a religious ceremony; b) in the presence and with approval of their parent or legal guardian; or c) having possession for the purpose of making a delivery of an alcoholic beverage in pursuance of the order of their parent or guardian, or in pursuance of his employment. 4. Any person violating the provisions of this Section shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty- five ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense. Section 3: That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. VOTES: AYES: 5 NAYS: p ABSENT: APPROVED: Michael A.
