AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CURFEW PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTER 24 MISDEMEANORS AND OTHER OFFENSES OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage,
Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 24.031 Enforcement of Curfew be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
24.031 Enforcement of Curfew. Any duly authorized law
enforcement officer of the Village who has arrested or charged
a child or children with violating the provisions of Section 24.029
may cause a written notice to be served upon the parent, guardian
or legal custodian of such child or children, setting forth the
nature of the violation and advising that any subsequent arrests
of said child or children may result in prosecution of the parent,
guardian or legal custodian as provided in Section 24.032.
Section 2: That Section 24.032 Penalty on Parent shall
be amended to read as follows:
24.032 Penalty on Parent. It shall be unlawful for any
parent, guardian or legal custodian of a child or children who
has violated the provisions of Section 24.029 who, within a period
of one year from the receipt of notice as provided in Section
24.031, knowingly permits such child or children to violate the
provisions of Section 24.029.
Section 3: That Section 24.033 Penalty shall. be amended
to read as follows:
24.033 Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this Chapter in which a separate penalty
is not provided shall be subject to a fine of not less that
Twenty -Five and no/100 ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred
and no/100 ($500.00) Dollars for each offense and the separate
offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which
a violation occurs or continues.
Section 4: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 5: This Ordinance shall, be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to the law.
