AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE. NO. 1495
PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE
COMBINED MULTI -FAMILY RECREATIONAL DISTRICT
(A-3)
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village at a public meeting duly called
and held according to law passed and approved Ordinance
No. 1495 which Ordinance established the Combined Multi -
Family Recreational District (A-3); and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance contains certain recitals
setting forth the adherence to procedural requirements,
the approval and adoption of the findings of the Plan
Commission and the like; and
WHEREAS, it was discovered that Exhibit A of said
Ordinance inadvertently omitted the requirement that•a
portion of land which is intended to be used for general
recreational purposes be dedicated or conveyed to a
municipal entity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIRED by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, in pursuance of
its general corporate authorities and its home rule authorities
as set forth in the constitution of the State of Illinois
as follows:
ction 1: That Section 5.37-1 Purpose, as set forth
on Exhibit A of Ordinance No. 1495 be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
5.37-1 Purpose:
A Combined Multi -Family Recreational District is of such
substantially different character from other developments
within the Village of Elk Grove so that specific procedures,
additional standards and exceptions are hereby set out to
govern such a district. A Combined Multi -Family Recreational
District is defined to be a District comprehensively planned,
whether in phases or otherwise, by private developers and/or
municipal corporations. Such District shall encompass not
less than 20 acres in area in which initially 55% or more of
the total acreage is intended to be dedicated or conveyed
to a municipal entity and used for general recreational purposes
for residents of Elk Grove Village and the public at large.
All present and future open space or recreational requirements
for a Combined Multi -Family Recreational District shall be
met by those portions of a Combined Multi -Family Recreational
District designated for general recreational purposes, and
no separate open space or recreational requirements shall exist
for those portions of the district designated for Multi -
Family dwellings, except as specifically required as a condition
of rezoning or as a condition for approval of the Conceptual
Land Use and Zoning Map. The intent of this District is to
permit flexibility and creativity in design as well as diversi-
fication in use, to promote the efficient use of land, and
to facilitate the economic arrangement of buildings, vehicular
circulation systems, recreational facilities and land use.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized
to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
