AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4-A, POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND
SALARY PLAN, ARTICLES 4A.202, 4A.203 AND 4A.205, OF THE MUNICI-
PAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1: That the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village
Chapter 4A entitled "Position Classification and Salary Plan", Article
4A.202, 4A.203 and 4A.205 are hereby amended to read as follows:
4A.202 ANNUAL SALARY MIDPOINT FORMULAE:
Annual Salary Midpoint formulae are
hereby established
for all clerical classes,
for all labor/trade
classes,
for non-labor/trade and non -clerical
classes,
up to
330 job content points, and
for classes
evaluated above
330 job content points as
follows:

4A.203 MIDPOINT RATE:
The midpoint rate shall constitute the point of the Salary
Range around which salaries are determined, adjusted and
administered.
To determine the Midpoint dollar rate of any Salary Range,
the total job content evaluation points for the respective
class is multiplied by the per point value, i.e. $63.00 and
the base value dollar amount, i.e. $11,100.00 is added to
the total.
4A.205 MERIT SALARY ADJUSTMENTS:
The Merit Grid shall be determined annually thereby establish-
ing the percent of salary increase to be available for various
levels of employee job performance. The Merit Grid is hereby
established as follows:

Each employee's salary increase will be based on the employee's
level of performance and their specific location in the new
salary range. Probationary employee'swho successfully complete
their probationary period will be eligible for merit increase
according to the Merit Grid on a prorated bases.

In no event shall an employee receive a salary increase
which would compensate them beyond the barrier line
established for each level of performance.
If an employee's performance is rated below 3.5 on two or
more performance evaluations during the 1981-82 fiscal
year, the employee's salary increase will be determined by
their Department Head. The salary increase cannot exceed
the 6; established by the Merit Grid. In such cases, the
employee's new salary may fall below the minimum rate
(85%) of the 1982-83 salary range established for their
position, but it shall not fall below the entrance rate.
Section 2: In addition to the merit grid specified in Section 4A.205,
the Village Manager may establish such compensation as appropriate for
supervisory/managerial positions for an outstanding level of performance.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as
of May 1, 1982, and upon its passage and approval according to law.
