AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 4, CIVIL
DEFENSE COMMISSION, OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK
GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That Article 4, Civil Defense Commission, Section 7.414,
Appropriation - Levy of Taxes, be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
7.414 Appropriation - Levy of Taxes.) The Village Board may
have arappropriation for civil defense purposes in the
manner provided by law, and may levy a tax in addition
to all other taxes for civil defense purposes pursuant
to the Illinois Municipal Code providing, however, that
any tax rate limitation or any other substantive limi-
tations as to tax levies in the Illinois Municipal Code
shall not be applicable since the Village of Elk Grove
Village is a "Home Rule" municipality.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
