HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1451 - 4/14/1981 - SOLICITATION/NOT PERMITTED AFTER 8PMORDINANCE NO. 1451 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18.4708 TIME LIMIT ON SOLICITATION OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows: Section 1: That Sec. 18.4708 - Time Limit on Solicitation, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 18.4708. Time Limit on Solicitation. It is hereby declared to be a nuisance and,therefore, unlawful for any person, whether registered under this Ordinance or not, to go upon any premises and ring the doorbell upon or near any door of a residence located thereon, or rap or knock upon any door, or create any sound in any other manner calculated to attract the attention of the occupant of such residence, for the purpose of securing an audience with the occupant thereof and engage in soliciting as herein defined, prior to 9:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. of any week day: Monday through Saturday, or at any time on a Sunday or on a State or National Holiday. Section 2: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. VOTES: AYES: 6 NAYS: APPROVED: 0 ABSENT: 0 Charles J.
