AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 15.003, FEES
AND 15.006, TIME OF PAYMENT - LICENSE YEAR
OF CHAPTER XV, VEHICLE LICENSES OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE
BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That Sec. 15.003, Fees, be and the same
is hereby amended to read as follows:
15.003 Fees.
*Motor bicycle and scooter
(150 cc. piston displacement or less) $ 6.00
*Motorcycle
(over 150 cc. piston displacement) $ 10.00
Passenger Cars $ 10.00
Trucks - having a gross weight of not
more than 10,000 pounds, including the
weight of the vehicle and maximum load $ 30.00
Trucks - having a gross weight of more
than 10,000 pounds but not more than
20,000 pounds, including the weight of
the vehicle and maximum load $ 45.00
Trucks - having a gross weight of more
than 20,000 pounds but not more than
36,000 pounds, including the weight of
the vehicle and maximum load $ 60.00
Trucks - having a gross weight of more
than 36,000 pounds but not more than
50,000 pounds, including the weight of
the vehicle and maximum load $ 75.00
Trucks - having a gross weight of more
than 50,000 pounds, including the
weight of the vehicle and maximum load $ 90.00
*Any vehicle having 50 cc. piston displacement or less is
prohibited from operation on streets and public property in
the Village.
The horsepower and weight shall be determined in the
manner prescribed by Statute for determining these factors
for the purpose of fixing State license fees.
Notwithstanding the provisions of this Chapter, the
vehicle license fees required of persons sixty-five years
of age and over and for handicapped persons shall be fifty
cents ($ .50) per passenger automobile each year. Any indivi-
dual requesting such reduced rate shall provide such evidence
as is requested by the Village Clerk evidencing ownership
of the licensed vehicle, age and/or handicapped status.
Section 2: That Sec. 15.006, Time of Payment - License
Year, is hereby amended to read as follows:
15.006 Time of Payment - License Year. Such license
fee shall be due and payable annually in advance on
the first day of June of each year and the license
shall be for a one year period; provided, that, for the
period commencing January 1, 1982, and terminating
May 31, 1983, license fees shall be due and payable
in advance of the first day of January of 1982 and
be in an amount equal to One Hundred Fifty (150%)
percent of those rates as set forth in Sec. 15.003
herein. Thereafter the provisions herein for annual
licenses commencing on June 1st of each year shall
be applicable.
Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to
such fines as are set forth in Sec. 15.009 of the Municipal
Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
