HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1478 - 9/8/1981 - AUCION SALE/VLG OWNED PROPERTYORDINANCE NO. 1478 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PUBLIC AUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities of the Village of Elk Grove Village, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interest of the Village of Elk Grove Village, to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village to sell said personal property at a public auction to be held on Saturday, October 3, 1981, at 11:00 a.m.; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village; Section 1: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Revised Statutes, C24, Section 11-76-4, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village find that the following described personal property: YEAR MAKE 1971 Ford 1971 Ford 1971 Chrysler 1977 Ford 1964 International Unknown Gledhill Unknown M.B. Comp. 1972 3M MODEL MINIMUM VALUE Flatbed F350 350.00 Custom $100.00 Newport $100.00 LTD II $400.00 404 Tractor $700.00 Leaf Vacuum $150.00 Paint Striper MDLS-70 $300.00 Green Lite Striper $350.00 now owned by the Village of Elk Grove Village, is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Elk Grove Village and the best interest of the Village of Elk Grove Village will be served by its sale. Section 2: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the Village of Elk Grove Village, at public auction, on Saturday, October 3, 1981, at 11:00 a.m., at the Arlington Heights Public Works Center, 222 N. Ridge, Arlington Heights, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said personal property. Section 3: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction. Section 4: No bid which is less than the minimum price set forth in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted. Section 5: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. The auction shall be conducted and the auctioneer shall be compensated in the manner set forth in the contract attached hereto and made part of this Ordinance. Section 6: Upon payment of the full auction price, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property, to the successful bidder. Section 7: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, by a vote of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
