HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1489 - 10/27/1981 - SPEED RESTRICTIONS/OAKTON STORDINANCE NO. 1489 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14.322 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE RELATING TO SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON OAKTON ST. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows: Section l: That the first paragraph of Section 14.322, Speed Restrictions, be in the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "It shall be unlawful to drive any motor vehicle on any street not located in an industrial zone and not under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Works and Buildings, State of Illinois, or County of Cook and DuPage, in the Village at a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour, except on Nerge Road between Devon Avenue and Rohlwing Road (Rte. 53) and on Oakton Street between Shadywood Lane and Higgins Road (Rte. 72) where the speed shall not be in excess of 35 miles per hour. Section 2: That the Chief of Police or his designated agent shall post or cause to be posted suitable signs. Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Five ($5.00) Dollars nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars for each offense. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
