AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE XLII
TAXICABS OF CHAPTER 18 LICENSES OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE
OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage,
Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That Sec. 18.4214 Emblem, of the Municipal
Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village is hereby amended to
read as follows:
18.4214 Emblem. Each taxicab, while operated, shall
have on each side in letters readable from a distance
of 20 feet, the name of the licensee operating it.
If more than one cab is operated by a licensee, each
cab shall be designated by a different number, and
such number shall also appear on each side of such cab.
Section 2: That Sec. 18.4216 Inspection of Taxi Meter
is hereby amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
If taxicabs, which are submitted for inspection under the
provisions hereof, are licensed and inspected in another
municipality whose testing procedures are similar to those
of the Village, the Chief of Police or his agent may,in their
discretion, accept the results of said prior inspection.
Nothing herein, however, shall prevent the Chief of Police or
his agent from requiring a separate inspection by the Village
when circumstances warrant same.
Section 3:
Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a
fine of not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars nor more than Five
Hundred ($500.00) Dollars for each and every offense, and a
separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during
or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Section 4: That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and oublication
according to law.
