AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE VILLAGE BY PROVIDING FOR IN-HOME DAY
CARE CENTERS AS A CONDITIONAL USE
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove
Village acting as a Zoning Commission conducted a public
hearing duly called and held according to law to consider
the question of amending the Zoning Ordinance to provide for
In -Home Day Care Centers as a conditional use in all residential
districts; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village after having considered the recommendation
of said Plan Commission find and believe it to be in the best
interest of the Village that In -Home Day Care Centers be
allowed as a conditional use in all residential districts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of
Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That Article 5 of the Zoning Ordinance of
the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following Section:
5.27 CONDITIONAL USES IN ALL RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS
A. In -Home Day Care Centers, provided that such
Centers are duly licensed with the State of
Illinois and with the Village of Elk Grove
Village.
Section 2: That Section 9.12 Definitions, of the Zoning
Ordinance be amended by inserting therein the following:
9.12 DEFINITIONS: IN-HOME DAY CARE CENTER
Any family home in which two or more children,
not of common parentage, are received for care
during the day, provided that such Centers shall
be limited to a maximum of eight children which
number shall include the family's natural or
adopted children or other children resident in
a home under age sixteen.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
