MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 2023
The Public Hearing was held in the Council Chambers of the Charles J. Zettek Municipal
Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
Present: Mayor Craig B. Johnson
Trustees Jeffrey C. Franke, Sam L. Lissner,
Tammy K. Miller, Christine Prochno, Stephen F. Schmidt
Also Present: Village Manager Matthew J. Roan
Village Attorney George B. Knickerbocker
Deputy Clerk Jennifer S. Mahon
Mayor Johnson called the Hearing to order at 6:53 p.m. and announced the purpose of the Public
Hearing was to allow discussion of the proposed budget for the Village of Elk Grove Village
fiscal year 2023/2024, which begins May 1, 2023.
The Village Board reviewed all departmental budget requests and the Village Manager's
recommendations at a public budget workshop held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Mayor Johnson introduced the Director of Finance, Christine Tromp. Ms. Tromp stated Public
Notice was published in the Daily Herald, in accordance with State Statutes, on Friday, March
31, 2023 for tonight's h in accordance with state statues.
The total proposed budget is $194,794,932, which represents a decrease of $34.1 million dollars
or 15% compared to the current year adjusted budget, which can be attributed to construction
projects.
The Mayor and Board of Trustees have been gracious to support the Departments again in the
proposed balanced budget, which allows us to remain committed to maintaining Elk Grove
Village as the exceptional community. The Village remains financially strong and we have
planned accordingly with a five -month reserve policy.
The budget is presented under item as on the consent agenda for your consideration.
Mayor Johnson asked if there were any comments or questions from the Village Board and/or
anyone in the audience.

Mayor Johnson adjourned the Public Hearing at 6:55 p.m.
