AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7-B-1-2, 7B-2-2:D, 711-5-2, AND 7C-2 OF
CHAPTER 7 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY PROHIBITING SELF -STORAGE
FACILITIES IN VARIOUS BUSINESS ZONED DISTRICTS AND AMENDING
SECTION 7E-3-A OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY ADDING SELF -STORAGE
FACILITIES AS A SPECIAL USE IN THE I-1 AND I-2 ZONING DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village, at a Public
Hearing duly called and held according to law, considered the question of approving a Text
Amendment to Chapter 7 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village as it pertains to Self -Storage
Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, after
having considered the recommendation and finding of said Plan Commission, find and believe it
to be in the best interest of the Village that the proposed Text Amendments to the Zoning
Ordinance be approved as recommended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: Amend Chapter 7 Regulations and Zoning Districts of the Zoning Ordinance
as follows:
A. Amend Section 713-1-2, Use Regulations in the B-1 Business District by adding sub-
section F which shall read as follows:
F. Prohibited Uses: The following uses are prohibited:
SELF -STORAGE FACILITIES
B. Amend Section 713-2-2: D Prohibited Uses in the B-2 Business District by adding
Self -Storage Facilities; and
C. Amend Section 713-5-2, Use Regulations in the B-5 Business District by adding sub-
section E. which shall read as follows:
E. Prohibited Uses: The following uses are prohibited:
SELF -STORAGE FACILITIES
D. Amend Section 7C-2, Uses Permitted in the O-T Office Transitional District by
adding sub -section F. which shall read as follows:
SELF -STORAGE FACILITIES
E. Amend Section 7E-3-A: Special Uses in the I-1 and I-2 Industrial Districts by adding
thereto Self -Storage Facilities.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
