AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PAYMENT PROVISIONS FOR PAID -ON-CALL FIREMEN
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, Paid -On -Call Firemen are Firemen who are not regular full-time
Firemen of the Village; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the mutual advantage of the residents of the Village
and its Paid -On -Call Firemen that adequate provision be made for the compensation
of the Paid -On -Call Firemen,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. Paid -On -Call Firemen shall be paid according to the
following schedule, per hour. Time shall be computed to the
nearest quarter hour and a minimum of one hour will be paid per
call.
Computation of Service Credit
Volunteer Service on Elk Grove Fire Department - 1/2 Credit
Paid Service on any other paid department - 1/2 Credit
Section 2. Paid -On -Call Firemen who are on special details or
on stand-by shall be paid at their individual rate per hour as
set forth above.
Section 3. All Paid -On -Call Firemen who have work losses shall
be compensated on the basis of $50.00 per day.
Section 4. Paid -On -Call Firemen shall receive $5.50 per training
session.
Section 5. All questions of interpretation and application of
this ordinance shall be determined by the Fire Chief of the Village.

from and after its passage and approval and be effective
as of May 1, 1979.
