AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF
"BISNER ROAD" TO "BEISNER ROAD"
WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village have been made aware of the fact that
Bisner Road has been spelled incorrectly;
WHEREAS, the original spelling was Beisner Road and not
Bisner Road; and
WHEREAS, the corrected spelling of Beisner Road will reflect
the true sur -name of the Beisner family; and
WHEREAS, the original street was dedicated in honor of
Mr. Lou Beisner, who was born in this area in 1897, and whose
achievements helped to build this community; and
WHEREAS, the street was originally dedicated as Beisner
Road, but through the years the spelling was unknowingly changed
to Bisner Road; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village have received from Elk Grove Township,
which also has jurisidction over the subject road, a
copy of a resolution recognizing the foregoing and authorizing
the change of name of the subject road from "Bisner Road" to
Beisner Road," a copy of which is attached,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and Du Page
Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That the name of the road now known as "Bisner
Road" be and is hereby changed to "Beisner Road" within the
corporate borders of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and
Du Page Counties, Illinois.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk be and is hereby directed
to send written notice of the change of the name of Bisner Road
to Beisner Road by certified or registered mail to all election
authorities having jurisdiction in the area in which the subject
road now exists and the United States Post Office branch
serving the subject area.
Section 3: That the name change shall be effective August
1, 1979 which date shall be more than 30 days after the election
authorities and post office branch referred to in Section 2
of this Ordinance have been notified of the change of name.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
cause the name change provided for herein to be reflected on the
official maps of the Village.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
