AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 24.001, GAMBLING
OF CHAPTER 24 MISDEMEANORS AND OTHER OFFENSES.
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a Home Rule
Municipality as established and defined by the Constitution of
the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk. Grove Village as a Home Rule
Municipality is empowered to enact certain legislation pertain-
ing to its local government and affairs as authorized by said
Constitution including legislation with respect to charitable
and civic organizations within the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That subparagraph B of Section 24.001 of the
Muncipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the
same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
(6.) Offers of prizes to participants of simulated
casino table game events wherein only non-negotiable currency
is used or raffles in conjunction with a licensed or approved
carnival, sponsored and conducted by not for profit, charitable
or fraternal organizations whose principal membership is
comprised of residents and/or merchants residing within the
Village, the proceeds of which do not directly or indirectly
accrue to such organization other than for charitable or civic
purposes.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
