HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1163 - 7/12/1977 - WEIGHT LIMITS/LANDMEIER & OAKTONORDINANCE NO. 1/63 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND PROVIDING FOR WEIGHT LIMITS ON OAKTON STREET AND ON LANDMEIER ROAD WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a Home Rule Municipality as defined by the Constitution of the State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, Home Rule Municipalities are empowered to enact ordinances and penalties for violations thereof as authorized by said Constitution; and WHEREAS, this Ordinance is being adopted pursuant to said Home Rule Authority: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village Chapter 14, Section 14.337A-1 be amended to read as follows: 14.337A-1 It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle, except a public passenger or common carrier, in excess of twelve (12) tons on Oakton Street from Arlington Heights Road to Kent Avenue and on Landmeier Road from Arlington Heights Road to Tonne Road Section 2. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined in accord- ance with the Illinois Vehicle Code, Chapter 95z, Section 15-113 as follows: In excess of 1,000 to 2,000# @2C 2,001 to 3,000# @4C 3,001 to 4,000# @6C 4,001 to 5,000# @8C 5,001# and up @ lOC Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval and publication, according to law.
