HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1171 - 9/13/1977 - LIQUOR, ALCOHOLIC PURCHASE BY MINORORDINANCE NO. 1171 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, MISDEMEANORS AND OTHER OFFENSES, OF THE MUNCIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION RELATING TO THE PURCHASE OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR BY A MINOR NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That Chapter 24, Misdemeanors and Other Offenses, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section which shall read as follows: 24.046. Purchase Of Alcoholic Liquor By a Minor. 1). It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of 21 years, or in the case of beer and wine, under the age of 19 years, to purchase or obtain any alcoholic liquor in any licensed liquor establishment or other place in the Village where alcoholic liquor sold. 2). It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of 21 years, or in the case of beer and wine, under the age of 19 years, to misrepresent his age for the purpose of purchasing or obtaining alcoholic liquor, beer or wine in any licensed liquor establishment or other place in the Village where alcoholic liquor, beer or wine is sold. 3). Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be subject to a fine of not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars for each offense, and each separate violation hereof shall be deemed a separate offense. Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. VOTES: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0 ATTEST: Eleanor G.
