An Ordinance Amending the Official Salary Plan for Administrative,
Supervisory and Professional Positions and Establishing a Means to
Determine Salaries When Refilling Said Positions that Become Vacant.
WHEREAS, maximum annual salary rates have been established for
Administrative, Supervisory and Professional positions,
and
WHEREAS, vacancies have occurred, or may occur from time to time,
which require refilling to maintain the services of the
Village of Elk Grove,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the President and Board of
Trustees'of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of
Cook and Du Page, Illinois:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance 1149, adopted June 28, 1977, is hereby
amended by adding the following provisions:
Section 3.
That the salary rates incorporated in Ordinance 1149
for the period beginning May 1, 1977 are hereby declared
to be the maximum annual salary rate which can be paid
for the respective positions included in said Ordinance.
Section 4.
That the maximum salary rate for any position may
be amended from time to time by adoption of an amendatory
Ordinance by the President and Board of Trustees.
Section 5.
That upon a position becoming vacant, the Village
Manager is authorized to refill said position at a salary
less than, but not greater than, the maximum salary rate
previously authorized for said position by Ordinance.
Section 6.
That after refilling a position pursuant to Section 5
the Village Manager is authorized to adjust the salary for
said position based on successful completion of a probationary
period, and/or achievement of a qualification suitable to the
position, providing the maximum rate heretofore authorized for
said position by Ordinance is not exceeded by such adjustment
or adjustments.

Section 7.
For positions refilled pursuant to Sections 5 and 6,
subsequent salary adjustments above the maximum, if any,
shall be as determined by the Village President and Board
of Trustees.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage and approval according to law.
