AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
LOT 347 IN CENTEX INDUSTRIAL PARK
UNIT 212 (GREENLEAF FIRE STATION)
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village owns the following
described real property:
Lot 347 in Centex Industrial Park Unit 212, being
a Subdivision in the North 1/2 of Section 34,
Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois,
which property is generally located 201.89 feet south of Greenleaf
Avenue and 200 feet west of the west line of State Route 83; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village have determined that it is no longer necessary,
appropriate, or in the best interests of the Village that it retain
title to said real estate, and said real estate is not required for the
use of, or is profitable to the Village of Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11-76-2 of the Illinois Municipal
Code, Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 11-76-2, notice
has been given of the proposal to sell such real estate and bids have
been invited for the purchase of such real estate, said notice having
been published for three (3) successive weeks in a newspaper of general
circulation in the Village as required by law; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice, bids were opened at the regular
meeting of the President and Board of Trustees held on May 24, 1977; and
the bid of George Vassos of $14,300.00 was the only bid received, but
was deemed fair and equitable by the President and Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees find and determine that
the best interests of the Village and its residents will be served by
the acceptance of the bid submitted by George Vassos, and the sale of
the aforesaid real estate to such bidder for the amount bid of $14,300.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and Du Page Counties, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1: The President and Board of Trustees find as facts the
recitals hereinabove set forth.
Section 2: The bid of George Vassos in the amount of $14,300.00
is hereby accepted by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village for the sale of the following described
real estate:
Lot 347 in Centex Industrial Park Unit 212, being
a Subdivision in the North 1/2 of Section 34,
Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3: Upon satisfaction of the terms of the contract between
George Vassos and the Village of Elk Grove Village, dated August 23,
1977, and upon the payment or securing of the aforesaid bid price in
the manner provided in said contract, the President is hereby authorized
and directed to convey and transfer the aforesaid real estate to
George Vassos or his nominee by a proper deed of conveyance, stating
therein the aforesaid consideration, and the Village Clerk is hereby
authorized to acknowledge and attest such deed and to affix thereto
the seal of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 4: The Village President and the Village Clerk are hereby
authorized, respectively, to execute and attest such other documents as
may be necessary to the conveyance herein authorized.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
