Aid ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BY
CREATING THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT VILLAGE
TREASURER
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois,
as follows:
Section 1: That Chapter 4, Other Officers of the Village, be
and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Article 5A, which
shall read as follows:
Article 5A. Assistant Village Treasurer.
4.5A01. Appointment. There is hereby created the
office of Assistant Village Treasurer, who shall be
appointed by the President and Board of Trustees and
shall serve for a term of one year.
4.5A02. Bond. The Assistant Village Treasurer
shall give a bond before entering upon the duties of
the office, in such sum as is required by the President
and Board of Trustees, but such amount shall not be
less than that required by statute. This bond
shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance of
the duties of the Assistant Treasurer, and shall be
conditioned to indemnify for any loss by reason of any
neglect of duty or any act of the Assistant Treasurer.
4.5A03. General Duties. The Assistant Village
Treasurer shall assist the Village Treasurer in the
performance of those duties prescribed for said
Treasurer by statute or ordinance. In the absence of
the Village Treasurer due to sickness, vacation or
vacancy of office, the Assistant Village Treasurer shall
assume the responsibilities of the office of Village
Treasurer, including the executing of checks and drafts,
depositing of funds, keeping of applicable records,
including books of account, and such other duties of the
Treasurer as is prescribed by ordinance during the
period of absence of the Village Treasurer.
Section 2: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
